These are permanent camps and lodges, more advanced, and offering more services and resources than the canvas tier. They accommodate relatively big groups, holding between thirty and forty standard rooms.

They provide a wide variety of services and resources: swimming pool, wifi, laundry machine, curio shops, hair dryer, massage, 24-hour electricity, safe boxes, and a wider choice of meals and drinks. It is the tier most of our repeat clients settle into after their first trip.

What it’s actually like

This is where safari comfort becomes more complete.

These are permanent camps and lodges with more space, more facilities and more choice than the under-canvas camps. Rooms are comfortable and private, with proper en-suite bathrooms, and many properties add swimming pools, Wi-Fi, laundry, shops, hair dryers, safes and 24-hour electricity.

The atmosphere is still very much safari, but you have more of the comforts you would expect from a good lodge. You can enjoy views, sundowners, bush meals and wildlife during the day, then return to a more established and comfortable base in the evening.

Think: comfortable, practical and well-equipped, without losing the safari feeling.
