Each journey is a bridge between your expectations and nature itself, on nature’s own terms, and we stay reachable from the first email to the last morning in the bush.

Serengeti Field timeline

Southern & eastern plains. Migration spread thin, settling for the calving.

Calving peak. Half a million births in three weeks. Predators concentrated, photographers in their element.

Green season at its richest. Few vehicles. April is our own favourite month to travel.

The rut. Synchronised mating, the great westward sweep into the Grumeti corridor.

Grumeti crossings. Largest Nile crocodiles in East Africa wait for the first arrivals.

Mara River crossings. The cable-television scene, on the Tanzania side, longer river, fewer vehicles.

The southward turn. Thunderclouds build. Empty parks, dramatic light.
