Wild.

Karibu · what this is

Wild.

Twelve guests on the whole property. A guide who has tracked the same leopard for six years. Sleep-out platforms under a sky with no light pollution within two hundred miles. A wine cellar of three thousand bottles, none of which you will see on a menu because there is no menu.

This is the tier for travellers who have done safaris before. Who already know which leopard means what, which season favours which crossing. The polish is invisible because it is total. Russel will personally walk every detail with you, six months ahead.

Honest expectations

This tier is not about the wildlife. The wildlife is the same.

The wildlife at this tier is the same wildlife the boutique guest sees. The same leopard. The same migration crossing. What changes is everything around it. Solitude. The total absence of other vehicles. A guide who knows the individual cats by their facial markings.

For a second or third safari it is the obvious move. For a first safari, the gap between this tier and boutique can read as wasted budget. We have said so to clients and watched them choose two boutique weeks instead. They were right.

Lead times are twelve to fourteen months. Many of the properties have buyout options where you take the whole camp; those need to be booked even further out. If this is for an anniversary or a milestone year, decide twelve months before the trip.
